Reducing the level of water-loss in the city of Tromsø, which is located 350 kilometers north of the Arctic Circle and is the largest city in Northern Norway.

Very high NRW level which has reached some 40% of the total input into the city and a very high rate of breaks.
This, primarily due to the high-pressure, big temperature variation which creates thermal-stresses and use of spring-loaded PRVs which caused the pressure-setting to increase when the demand flow reduces, thus, de-stabilizing the system’s pressure on a daily basis.

Around 40 units of spring-loaded PRVs were replaced by the Dorot S-300 pilot-operated, fixed-outlet PRVs.

RESUTS

In the below graph one can see the dramatic improvement in the pressure-stability by using the Dorot S-300 PRVs model 30-PR instead of a spring-loaded PRV of the same size.
