BC - Pump control valve - Series 300

The Dorot Series 300 Pump Control Valve (’30-BC) is an automatic controlled valve, activated by the pressure of the pipeline. The valve is assembled downstream of a pump and will open and close slowly when the solenoid is energized\de-energized respectively, thus preventing surges caused by sudden pump start-up or shut-off. The valve will close instantly on power failure.

Optional Pump Control valve applications:

  • BC/PS Booster pump control & pressure sustaining - Pump control and Back-pressure sustaining valve.
  • BC/DI  - Booster pump control & differential pressure sustaining - pump control, maintains constant flow at varying suction conditions. 
  • BC/FR Booster pump control & flow-control
  • BC/PR Booster pump control & pressure reducing
  • BC/CD Booster pump control with extended, dynamic closure (for long pipelines)

Installed on the pump discharge.

Eliminating pressure surges caused by rapid change of the pipe velocity.

Opens slowly on the pump startup, and closes at adjustable pace before shut-off.

The pump motor is then switched-off by an electric interlink with the valve.

BC\PS BOOSTER PUMP CONTROL & PRESSURE SUSTAINING - Series 300

Dorot models “BC/PS" and “BC/TO” are automatic, solenoid controlled valves, activated by the pressure of the pipeline.
The valve is installed on the pump discharge in a downhill pumping system, where the network drains when the pump is idle. The valve slowly opens on start-up of the pump, maintaining preset back pressure in the pump discharge. This prevents excess flow through the network filling stage which can cause cavitation damage to the pump, pressure surges, and may even cause electric motor overload. The valve fully opens, following the complete filling of the main pipe, when the network pressure rises to the normal duty point. The valve creates a negligible pressure loss when fully open. The valve gradually closes, prior to pump shut-off, preventing pressure surges caused by the rapid change in pipe velocity.
A limit switch, assembled on the main valve bonnet, is connected to the pump control panel and switches off the motor when the valve has completed closing. In case of power or pump failure, the valve instantly closes, performing as a fast-reacting check valve. The main valve is "normally closed" (N.C.). The electric signal opens the valve. The standard electric current of the solenoid is 24VAC, 50Hz. Various coils, suitable to other electric currents are supplied on request.
 
The main valve is supplied in two models:
  • Model 30D for medium pressure (up to 16 bar / 230 psi) Model 31D for high pressure (up to 25 bar / 350 psi).

BC\FR BOOSTER PUMP CONTROL & FLOW-CONTROL - Series 300

Dorot model “BC/FR” is an automatic, solenoid controlled valve, activated by the pressure of the pipeline. The valve is installed on the pump discharge.
 
On start-up of the pump, the valve opens at a slow adjustable pace, until the system flow rate rises to the preset maximum value. The maximum rate of flow is set by a pilot valve, activated by the pressure differential created on an orifice plate, assembled in the main valve inlet flange.
Prior to pump shut-off, the valve slowly closes. This prevents pressure surges that may be caused by a rapid change in velocity.
A limit switch, assembled on the main valve bonnet, is connected to the pump control panel and switches off the motor when the valve has completed closing.
In case of a power or pump failure, the valve instantly closes, performing as a fast-reacting check valve.
The main valve is "normally closed" (N.C.). An electric signal opens the valve.
 
The standard electric current of the solenoid is 24VAC, 50Hz. Various coils, suitable to other electric currents, are supplied on request.

BC\CD BOOSTER PUMP CONTROL WITH EXTENDED, DYNAMIC CLOSURE (FOR LONG PIPELINES) - Series 300

Dorot model "BC/CD" is an automatic, solenoid controlled, valve, activated by the pressure of the pipeline. The valve is installed on the pump discharge, connected to uphill-leading long pipelines. On start-up of the pump, the valve slowly opens, at an adjustable pace, until it is fully open, creating negligible pressure loss.

Prior to pump shut-off, the valve begins its closing procedure. If downstream pressure drops below the static pressure (due to rapid closure), the valve will temporarily stop the closing procedure, preventing pressure surges caused by the rapid change in the pipe velocity. A limit switch, assembled on the main valve bonnet, is connected to the pump control panel. This switch turns off the motor when the valve has completed closing. In case of power or pump failure, the valve instantly closes performing as a fast-reacting check valve. The valve comes "normally closed" (N.C.). An electric signal opens the valve. The valve eliminates damaging surges caused by pump start-up and shut-off. The electrically activated valve gradually opens on pump start up, and slowly closes before the pump is switched off.
