04-05-2010 Dorot implemented its pressure reducing valves, air releasers and new valve indicators in Italy country sides (Baraggia village)
Facing irrigation problem
On the North West side of Italy, near the city Vercelli, a 45.000 Hectares Agricultural Land is populated by many farmers spread on several villages, one of them is Baraggia.
Several dams collecting snow water coming from the Italian Alps and feed them into main pipes network (between 1.2 up to 2 meter diameter).
Due to that, and especially on winter, this area suffers from irrigation pipes damages.
The farmers needs to drain the pipes, downstream the Pressure reducers and as the irrigation season starts it is needed to refill the pipes.
The water network has been suffering from many pipe brakes as a result of surges during the refilling process.
The average pressure in the mains(P1) is 250 to 200 meters.
The required average outlet pressure at users outlets (P2) +\- 60 to 40 meters.
Dorot valves solution
Dorot offered in addition to its high pressure and pressure reducing valves of large diameters (10",12" and 16") to add a mechanical throttling closure with a new and innovative built-in Indicator mounted on each valve. Twenty of such pressure reducing valves has been installed in association with two QR (Quick Relief) safety valves, one at upstream and one on downstream and two 4" DAV Air Releasers for each pressure reducing valve.
The New Refilling process
After installing the new valves and air releasers, the filling process acts as follow:
First, choking the opening stroke of the PR for slow refilling, and then re-opening it.
This method saved the replacement to mechanical valves and solved the problem.
Dorot Italy is proud to implement innovative and simple solutions for its clients, using high technology, advanced control valves and pressure reducing valves.
